Caption : My periods started at a very young age which means I’ve been menstruating for around 18 years now and you think you’d come to terms with all the PMS-ing and everything that comes as a packaged deal with Aunt Flo every month but that’s rich thinking. A week before my periods the body starts retaining water, skin starts breaking out,breasts become sore and don’t even get me started on the mood swings. And then it comes, you start bleeding and it starts to get better for the next few days bringing some respite from this emotional roller coaster of self-doubt, lack of confidence and being extremely critical of yourself and low self worth (sounds fun,right!). Just when you think you’re past this…here we go again,the next cycle begins. I still feel lucky because for some people who bleed it gets even worse and I’m so sorry! I was hesitant to put up this picture at first but it is what it is and if given a shot at reincarnation I’d love nothing more but to be born a woman again. Caption : I love looking out of the window… I could do it for hours.. and it may seem like a colossal waste of time to many but it brings me peace. A short meaningful pause in the chaos of the city( same AQI but still helps). I’m running at hundred miles per hour… okay not literally 100 miles/hour but you get the picture. The path is uneven, might even hit my toe against a rock sticking out of the ground, the coconut just about hanging on to its last fibre misses you by a second or maybe not, a gust of wind brings with it some sand ready to make my eye a temporary habitat (and if it has to be… let it be my left eye God! I use the right one to shoot). The little insect aims straight for the eyes or the nose or the mouth and that’s my first meal of the day. The little pebble… a teeny tiny microscopic pebble in my shoe! Do not underestimate it. You know the feeling right! It’s not exactly an itch you can’t scratch…you can take off your shoe and ….well just scratch your foot and take the invincible pebble out but wouldn’t it be nice to go just one day without that happening. The crow pooped on my shirt but I’m still running because at least it didn’t get my hair this time, no reason for me to stop now when some detergent and water can take care of it later. And of course you’re going to encounter a curve ball… and I’m not taking metaphorically here;an actual curve ball. Well, what was I expecting…I’m on a track in a Cricket field. But I keep running. I see my smartwatch and I stop to quench my thirst. Luckily I have a bottle of sweet sweet water on me. Now back to running again…and if you still think it’s about running… The water bottle is the window. 🪟 Fin.
