Varalaxmi who made a stunning debut with Vignesh Shivn’s directorial debut Podaa Podi opposite STR rose to fame for her critically acclaimed performance in Thaara Thappattai under Bala’s direction. She also stamped herself as a prominent actor in Malayalam industry after her appearance in Kasaba opposite Mammooty.

 

She made news recently after she agreed to star in Akshaye Mittay in Malayalam which is the remake of Appa. Samuthirakani who directed the original will also be seen donning the directorial hat for the Malayalam remake as well. Actor Jayaram was signed to play the lead in Akshaye Mittay.

 

Before the news could even fade away the actress announced that she is walking out of the project. When the actress decided to open up on Twitter, her tweet shocked the industry.

 

She said that she doesn’t like to work with male chauvinistic and manner less producers, and hence her decision to not work with them. She also thanked the director Samuthirakani and actor Jayaram for supporting her decision to walk out of the project.

Varalaxmi is known for voicing out against the problems that women face in the showbiz. Recently she shared her own nightmarish experience with a head of a leading television channel. She received widespread support from her fans and co stars alike from then on.

 

She has got a list of films like Nibunan, Sathya, Ammayi and Vikram Vedha lined up for release this year.
