Rajinikanth who is still busy with wrapping up portions for his upcoming magnum opus 2.0 is likely to go on floors for his next with Ranjith from mid-May. The movie which is touted to be another gangster flick is said to be based in Mumbai.
Earlier Ranjith directed Kabali with Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. Rajinikanth played his age in the movie for the first time. He played an aging don searching for his lost family after spending 25 years in prison. The movie created a hype like no other Indian movie and did very well at the box office. Impressed with the outcome of Kabali, the actor turned Producer Dhanush decided to produce Rajinikanth’s next under Ranjith’s direction.
The director later announced that this movie would be loosely based on a don in Mumbai. The sources close to the movie crew also revealed that the makers are in talks with Bollywood actress Vidya Balan at the moment for playing the lead heroine in the movie.
With the wrap for the shoot of 2.0 nearing Dhanush was thronged with questions as to when the movie with Rajinikanth will happen. Dhanush who himself was busy shooting for VIP 2 and Pa Paandi (his directorial debut). VIP 2 which was directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth had Bollywood actress Kajol in one of the pivotal roles. The movie was wrapped up recently and is currently in post-production. Dhanush announced officially in his twitter handle that now 2.0 nearing completion his project with Rajinikanth and Ranjith will go on floors from the month of May.
