As per the reports that were revealed by the sources close to the producer Dhanush earlier, Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi has been signed to play the lead actress in the movie opposite Superstar Rajinikanth. In a recent short conversation to one of the reporters recently the actress shied away from admitting she is the actress and took the safer route and said, “It is the producers who should be making an announcement so we should wait for that”
The critically acclaimed actress who is known for her iconic roles in movies like Badlapur and Gangs of Wasseypur was reported to be the actress who would be playing the love interest of Superstar Rajinikanth in his upcoming flick directed by Pa. Ranjith. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan was earlier said to have signed the movie to star opposite Superstar. Since the Dirty Picture actress walked out of the project in the last minute stating date issues, the makers had to sign Huma Qureshi who was ready to take up the project.
According to the sources close to the actress, she will be joining the sets of the upcoming Rajinikanth movie in Mumbai from 28th of May. The shooting is supposed to commence in the huge sets that have been erected in Chennai that resembles the slums of Mumbai. However, the director Ranjith was keen on shooting some vital scenes in the real life locations rather that the sets and the team will be flying to Mumbai for their first schedule. The story is said to be based on a gangster whose life is based in Mumbai’s Dharavi. Santhosh Narayanan has been signed as the music composer for the promising movie.
Earlier Ranjith directed Rajinikanth in his movie Kabali that told the story of an aging Malaysian gangster who goes in search of his family. Kabali became a sensation at the time of its release and the movie was celebrated for its unimaginable success at the box office.
