Dhanush who has got a number of films in his kitty have managed to complete the shooting for VIP 2 in the meantime. Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, the movie has entered its postproduction phase. Star Dhanush himself has penned the Story, Screenplay and the dialogues for the movie.
Unlike the original the sequel has got Sean Roldan as the music director for the movie. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, the movie has got the cast of the original film retained. Amala Paul and Samuthirakani reprise their roles from the original VIP.
Bollywood actress Kajol has done an important role in the film. She earlier had her stint at Tamil Cinema in the year 1997 with Arvind Swamy and Prabhudeva for the film Minsara Kanavu. It is after 20 years is she returning to Kollywood.
The team of VIP2 is said to have chosen Kajol after an extensive hunt for casting of her role. She is said to play a very important character and sources say that she might be playing the antagonist in the movie.
As the post production works of the movie is getting completed, the team have now announced the release date for the flick. Announcing in a video, the crew confirmed the release date for the movie to be 28th of June. The date also happen to fall on the birthdate of the actor Dhanush.
With one month into the release of the movie, it seems that the crew have planned for extensive promotions once the post production works gets over.
The actor has now kickstarted shooting for Vada Chennai, the ambitious gangster flick under Vetri Maaran’s direction.
