Yesteryear actress Savithri’s biopic starring Keerthy Suresh and Samantha Ruth Prabhu has kick started today. Keerthy Suresh who rose to fame with Remo and Bairavaa movies will be playing the actress Savithri while Dulquer Salmaan will be playing the role of the legendary actor Gemini Ganesan.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been signed to play the role of a journalist in the biopic to directed by Nag Ashwin. The biopic is titled as Mahanathi and is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages. The biopic is being funded by Vyjayanthi movies and Three Angel Studios.
It is learnt that huge sets were erected to recreate the period drama. If sources close to the movie crew are to be believed, Samantha who is said to play a journalist will be narrating the movie. Telugu actor Vijay Devarakonda is said to play a key role in the movie and will be playing the romantic interest of Samantha.
Along with the stellar leading cast, Prakash Raj and Anushka are said to play important roles in the movie. The movie which kickstarted today in a studio in Hyderabad is said to be standing on a huge budget.
Apart from Mahanadhi Keerthy Suresh also has Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Kootam up on the list that is on the final schedule of its production. Samantha also has Thalapathy 61 coming up. She is said to join the sets of Thalapathy 61 from the month of June. She has also got Aneedhi Kadhaigal opposite Fahadh Fazil and Vijay Sethupathi in production.
