Udhayanidhi Stalin has teamed up with Naitonal award winning director Priyadarshan for his next. The Manidhan actor announced the news on his micro blogging account. He also announced that the flick will be produced by producer Santhosh of Moonshot Entertainment.
The producer turned actor has been films where he plays the hero for some time. The actor declared that it is after the success of Manithan that other producers came forward to produce his films. With his recent outing Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen being a decent hit, the actor is awaiting two more releases.
Ippadai Vellum from director Gaurav and Pothuvaga En Manasu Thangam from director Thalapathy is still on cards.
Director Priyadarshan is known for his critically acclaimed movies in Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam industries. He has directed films like Lesa Lesa, Kanchivaram, Sila Nerangalil in Tamil. He has directed quite a number of movies in Malayalam and Hindi. He had won National award for his movie ‘Kanchivaram’. Kanchivaram also fetched National award for Prakash Raj under best actor category.
His recent outing Oppam had been a blockbuster in Malayalam which had Mohanlal playing the lead and Samuthirakani playing the antagonist. After Oppam became a blockbuster, the director had plans for casting the same spell in Hindi. With the remake works of Oppam in Hindi being underway, the director had agreed to work with Udhayanidhi Stalin.
It is believed that after the completion of two films that Udhayanidhi is currently in and Priyadarshan’s commitment in Hindi, the said project will take off. While the other cast and crew of the project are yet to be decided the makers will announce further details soon, said the sources close to the director.
