Kayla Briët Instagram – excited to share pre-alpha stills from a new VR project I’ve been making, called TROVE ✨// a time capsule of our most treasured objects.
For a little over a month, I’ve been documenting chosen objects and their stories. Each item is 3D scanned into vr using photogrammetry. We can see & interact with these objects up close in a virtual world combining film and music.
My dream is to continue documenting more treasured objects in different countries around the world, so we can revisit them in portals like this. It’s a moment where we can see ourselves in the stories of fellow human beings, and perhaps in the distant future, our ancestors. ✨Like traveling time.
Thank you so much to the many friends who have participated in interviews, to my fam who have supported me while I was alone in the “cave” building this in Unity. And thank you to @smithsonianapa and @project1324 for your incredible support. I’ll be demoing a pre-alpha version of TROVE at #AeKai culture lab this weekend in Honolulu, HI!
But for now, back to my room to finish composing music and optimizing the piece!
