Throwback to the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world, the Miss World Pageant, held in Poland, where I had represented India after winning Miss India World! In this picture taken a few days before the big day in Poland, is my dearest Mom and Mrs Julia Morley, founder & head of the Miss World Organisation! Winning Miss India World has been one of the most beautiful and life changing experiences of my life. Always grateful to the divine for this honour & dream come true. I always felt I had won because of my Mother’s blessings, and I mean this in the most genuine way without wanting to sound textbookish. God really had put the crown on my head so as to pass it to my mother. He wanted to reward her for her faith and fighting spirit in life. She overcame endless obstacles & stood tall while raising her daughters to stand on they own feet. She taught us to work hard and dream big. These were her dreams that God fullfiled. Her daughters were merely a medium. Today Mum is no more. She was only 57 years old when she passed away this year in February. But I really feel her presence all around me. She was and will always be my soulmate. I hope to continue to fulfill all her dreams even after she has passed over to the other dimension. Because I feel she is still watching from up above, what I am upto! ❤
