Sruthi Hariharan Instagram – This is not a post on fashion, or my movies or one of those fun times I am having. This is not meant to entertain – But is a post that matters and something I have been wanting to put up since long. Hoping you all take time to read it :) “In another 15- 20 years , most of our rivers will become seasonal… and will no more be perennial” – Sadhguru, Isha foundation . The picture above is of a stream in Aravikara near Nagercoil, TN , India… which a decade ago was bustling with water in abundance, and today when I go visiting the place, all ready to go take a swim too- this is the sight we are greeted with. It was extremely disheartening to know that over the last few years the rivers surrounding not just this area but all over our country has dried up to 80% of their capacity and it is a HIGH TIME WE DID SOMETHING … NOW ! The rivers of our nation are dying … imagine a day when we open our taps and there is no water .. not a drop to drink, to bathe, to wash, to cook … And a situation where no money is going to buy us that water either … What then …Where do we go? If you think a day like that will never come- I wish I could be as optimistic as you … But if you agree and feel as scared as I am for the future of our nation and its children then WELCOME to the real world . Join the Isha foundation in the “Rally for rivers” ..
