The Malayalam heartthrob Nivin Pauly is all set to storm into the Tamil film industry with the much anticipated Richie. Nivin Pauly debuted in Tamil with the movie ‘Neram’ in the year. Richie is the actor’s second direct Tamil film after ‘Neram’. Neram was directed by Alphonse Puthiran who later went on to direct Nivin Pauly in the movie ‘Premam’. After Premam turned out to be a blockbuster in Tamil Nadu, the actor was keen on making a comeback in Tamil films, thanks to his amped up star status.
The actor decided to play the lead role in the Tamil remake of the Kannada movie ‘Ullidavare Kandathe’. Directed by debutant Gautham Ramachandran, the movie also has Shraddha srinath, and Natraj Subramaniam alias Natty in the lead roles along with Nivin Pauly. Prakash Raj plays the Nivin’s father like figure while Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli will also be seen in an important role said the director.
The makers have now officially announced that the movie will hit the screens on 8th of December. The makers released the teaser of the movie a few weeks before which was well received among the audience. The teaser even ended with a shot that had the phrase ‘Welcome to Tamil Cinema’ painted in the background. It was Nivin who suggested on making the movie only in Tamil.
