Janani Iyer Instagram – What you’re looking at here is a Khadi Denim skirt. Yes, you read it right!Denim spun, woven & dyed by hand. Made by @desitude, a Khadi clothing label making Khadi chic & fashionable. These handmade denims feel really good on the skin. DesiTude is more than just a clothing brand though. What I love is their social commitment. For every item they sell, they plant a sapling. 180 saplings have been planted by them so far!They also use 10% of each of their sale proceeds to buy rural women hand- made sanitary pads & distribute them to orphanages where girls do not have access to pads. In their attempt to break beauty stereotypes, their models are ordinary people with no makeup. Kudos to the effort!
