Donisha Rita Claire Prendergast Instagram – Reminder to self: Celebrate yourself! I was recently in a reasoning with a close bredren about my feelings towards deciding to start acting again after occupying the stage as an activist for the past couple of years. He listened and then said to me, ‘I was just telling Daddy about your plans and he just said Donisha is such a brave girl.’ I smiled courteously and said Give Thanks. I was humbled by the sentiment, but also curious about the why. I started to think of all the reasons why I was such a brave girl. It was overwhelming, to remember of all the moments that shattered pieces of my soul to carve me into this beautiful, intense, complex, amazing, humble, kind, insightful, loving, rebellious, bold, passionate, sensitive, creative, graceful human being. I cried a little inside. Not because I was sad… because Maya Angelou was right. Still we rise, we rise, we rise. Today I’m celebrating me, all of me. 🌺Truly thankful for the time, space and freedom to continue to grow into my wings and to right my story.
