In the week leading up to the screening, the teachers will engage the students with a ‘Wakanda curriculum’, a refresher course on the colonization and its impact on The Caribbean and North America until today. This which will prepare them with tools to analytically dissect the film with a more keen eye. After the film, each of the 250 youths will be asked to submit a review on the movie and experience, with suggestions from the film of elements of the production design they would like to see in the library. The key question we have asked them to answer during this program is ‘What is your legacy as a school, and as individuals?’ And I’ll pose the same to you... What’s yours? If you have ideas, tools or resources that can help us, reach out.
