The tour inside will continue, at some point, but in celebration of an egg being newly sat upon by the female swan, here is a photo from years ago of the first male swan that I had brought on to the property. The cygnets born thus far have never survived in to adulthood, as opposed to the chicks of the peacocks that for some reason proliferate at the property greatly. Perhaps the new egg will hatch a surviving adult swan. We shall see. Zamek Konarovice Czech Republic

In the previous post there was a pronouncement that the next post would be back inside from where I left off of the interior tour. But then I was taking photos of the swans and as the female swan approached the male swan, he bit the close by goose around the neck with his bill. So you can see this male swan with his bill around the goose’s neck in this photo. Zamek Konarovice Czech Republic

I keep meaning to go back inside to continue the tour of the interior but this photo is a sort of a reverse of the previous photo. In this photo one can see from the second floor of Zamek Konarovice down over the parterre and the statues on the balustrade the pond that was on the right side of the previous photo. After the male swan bit the goose’s neck the goose made no noise or fuss and leisurely swam away, perhaps understanding the territorial nature of the male swan. The female swan kept her course to the male swan and they had a greeting dance by moving their necks to and fro. The last time I saw a male swan become territorial like this here the female swan was soon sitting on a nest. So perhaps that is what is about to happen. Zamek Konarovice Czech Republic

Down the hall from the previous photo one can see the main fresco above this hallway wing’s bird portraits. One can assume the main theme of the frescos in the hall is birds.
