Bhumi Pednekar Instagram – Visiting Abhyudaya Ashram in Morena,Madhya Pradesh has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life.I stumbled upon this place while shooting for my next film in Chambal and was amazed by the kids there and the work the institution does.It was started in 1992 for the welfare of the girls of the bediya samaj.Their daughters were forced into child prostitution and abhyudaya made sure they rescued,sheltered and empowered as many of these children.Its been a challenge for them to fight their families and make them understand what they were doing was a violation of human rights.Today it has housed around 5000 children,from various classes,girls and boys included, giving them the skills and education to compete,survive and excel in the world. Education is the only way you can truly empower someone and Aruna maam and her staff though faced with many challenges,are braving through every difficult situation for the welfare of their kids.
