Eka Darville Instagram – #themankindproject has given me so much over the 7 odd years I’ve been doing the work. Im honored to represent the 50 thousand plus Men who make up this community and stand as a representative for the healthy masculinity that The Mankind Project embodies.
I’m one of the lucky few to receive formal initiations at each of the important junctions of my life. Everything I am proud of in my life, is rooted in those formative and transformative experiences. “If you don’t initiate the boys, they will burn down the village to feel the heat” this is an ancient African proverb.
I look out at our society and I see a whole generation of angry, hurting boys burning down the village.
I see the litany of pathologies we assign to these boys, as born of a common wound… The loss of healthy masculinity at the hands of toxic masculinity.
So how do we heal?? One man at a time…. Starting with the one in the mirror.
