Sanam Shetty Instagram – It’s extremely overwhelming and a profound moment for me to receive this award, ‘The Madras Icon’ 2018. Although not my city of origin, Madras has now become an indispensable part of my identity. It is here that my dreams were realized, it is here that Iv seen struggles and success which have shaped me into the person that I am. To be recognized among so many talents and to be honoured with this beautiful token of appreciation is truly a very emotional moment for me. It’s a silver lining to so many actors/artists like myself who constantly have to taste the bitterness of rejections. It’s an answer to the big question, ‘Why’. It’s an answer that says, ‘We believe in you as much as you believe in yourself.
