Anne Rice Instagram – Every Christmas, @annericeauthor ‘s dear friend, the writer @ericshawquinn, gifts her several new frog prince statues. Here’s how the tradition got started. Years ago, when Anne moved back to California after decades in New Orleans, she hosted a housewarming party at her new home in La Jolla. Her son @christopher.rice.writer asked all of his writer friends to bring Anne the gift of one of their own books – signed, of course – so she’d have something to line her shelves with. Christopher’s friend @ericshawquinn not only did exactly that, he also gifted Anne two bookends shaped like frog princes. Anne was overwhelmed with emotion. Eric had no idea that her late husband Stan, who had died recently of an inoperable brain tumor, had referred to their old home in the Garden District of New Orleans as Toad Hall.
