I was thrilled to get a call from Loretta Lynn and her daughter Patsy, to produce and direct a special concert tribute event for this remarkable, groundbreaking woman. Still the most awarded woman in the history of country music and first female country artist to receive the Kennedy Center Honor. In recent years, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Barack Obama. My grandfather loved Loretta and held her up as an example of a woman determined to make something herself against impossible odds.
