Maya Sundarakrishnan Instagram – I’m always looking to challenge myself as an actor. But I never thought I would have the grit and the courage, to perform in a play like “Nee”. Abuse isn’t funny. Period. and I hope that art will always be a platform for such stories that NEED to be told. Nee. A story that deserved to be told. I’m truly blessed and grateful that @johnpradeepjl had enough faith in me. Between his team and the incredibly talented @keerthipandian , they not only helped me push my boundaries, they gave me a piece that will FOREVER mean a LOT to me. Thank you @keerthipandian for putting up with my randomness , my show tantrums and last minute changes . We tried to give a voice to the voiceless through “word painting” . I did not know such a term existed untill @singerswagatha told me and she gave the story a whole new elevation, and I hope we get to work together more often. Thank you to everyone who came forward and supported this, and understood that when art disturbs the comfortable, there is a truth in its bones that deserves to be spoken. To everyone involved in the courage that was Erotica, I’m humbled and honoured to have shared the stage with you. Here’s to always breaking the shackles, and letting art take charge.
