Michael Bearden Instagram – I UPDATE to this post! If it is proven that Jussie has fabricated this whole incident, I’ll be just as livid as when I thought it had happened. He is a friend, and I had no reason to believe anything less than what he has demonstrated to me in the past. However, to lie about something so serious is dangerous! And quite frankly, unbelievably stupid on so many levels! He’ll have to explain and or answer for his actions if this indeed is proven to be all made up. I’ll still leave this original post up. I support friends so my original post is what it is. He’ll need the support of many others now more than ever. . .(Original post) I’m so thankful that my good friend @jussiesmollett is okay. I’m OUTRAGED that he was attacked! (In my home town no less) America is in a collective cloud of dysfunction! Exacerbated by purveyors of fear! Michael Bearden Instagram – Quick story: As I posted a few days ago, I recently lead an all star tribute to Ray Charles at the Grand Ole Opry. It included big country stars and some non country stars. This isn’t a post about that. It’s a post about judgement. The next day after the show, Charlie Wilson and I were on the same flight back to LA. (If you don’t know who “Uncle Charlie” is, or his story, please do yourself a favor and research him. It’s an amazing story!) There are many phony people in this business. Charlie is NOT one of them. I’ve known him a long time. He’s as real as they come! He and I were just chopping it up, catching up on life and reflecting on the prior night’s performance. As we were boarding, a lady walked over to us and said, “You guys look important. Are you rappers or something?” Okay. Listen! We were dressed as musicians dress. A little blinged up, okay. But, not anything over the top. Just enough to know we didn’t work at a brokerage firm or something. Lol 😆 We’re in a sensitive time right now. And, we were in a so called “red” state. I could’ve easily gone left. But, I said to her, “Firstly, everyone is important to somebody. Then I said, No. We’re not rappers. We performed at the Opry last night”. Her face hit the floor. “The Opry?” She said. That’s big time!” I just smiled. We boarded and as we were sitting there, people were coming on complimenting us on the show. And, how much they enjoyed it. I never saw that woman again. Hopefully she learned something that day. Or maybe she didn’t. Who knows? All I know is, nobody can stop you from living your truth! And even more, the only thing that can ever stop your purpose is you not embracing it! Live your purpose. Live your truth. You’ll be unstoppable! No matter how others may see you!!
