So happy to share that the screening of Love Sonia is organized on the World Anti-trafficking Day, 30 July 2019 and is part of a longstanding commitment of the OSCE to assist all OSCE Participating States including Uzbekistan in combating trafficking in human beings. This will provide an opportunity to gain deeper insight into trafficking in human beings and ways to combat it effectively. The growth of human trafficking and the challenges faced combatting this heinous crime requires all of us to share experience, build partnerships and gain an understanding of individual methods of working with the aim of combatting crime and protecting all our citizens.
The event will bring together a number of high ranking Uzbek government officials, representatives of civil society, diplomatic community, OSCE and UN officials, and members of the media.
A big Thank you to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) jointly with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and the National Human Rights Centre of Uzbekistan. The motive behind the event is to highlight the importance of combating human trafficking across the OSCE region as well as globally, using a comprehensive human rights-centered, trauma-informed and gender-sensitive approach.
