I wanted it to be about real moms with real experiences so my dear friend Parul @mumbaimummy who has been such a life saver for me listed her tips. She is a mum of 4 and I asked her what worked for her!

– first and foremost. As hard as it can get. Keep your emotions in check. A happy mother will make a happy baby. Estrogens get realeased into your milk. Babies can also sense your mood swings. So the day you’re cranky. You’ll see your babies are cranky too! Everything you have. And go through releases into the milk it’s as simple as that. And avoid gadgets while breastfeeding. .

– If you’re a new mom and watching/ reading  this now.  Please please eat everything from day one. You’ll have our moms, mom in-laws,  Oldies. Telling us avoid chana. Cabbage. Pulses. Gassy food. Doin the 40 day thing of avoiding gassy food. Is going to only make ur baby more colic because your baby doesn’t understand why all this food is suddenly coming into the body. – you’re going to have growth spurts and will have to feed on demand as ur baby grows bigger. You may feel your supply is dropping. Don’t lose hope. And don’t substitute a feed with formula. Let ur baby latch on. Every hour if need be till the flow kicks in. – now some food and nutritional intake that can increase milk supply is methi / fenugreek in any form. Raw seeds soaked in water. Fresh methi leaves can be made as a raw salad with garlic a little salt and mirchi powder tadka. Methi ladoos. Methi also helps in contraction 70 % quicker than any other thing. Bajra also helps a lot. Try replacing ur normal rotis with bajra. – making your own mother’s tea which can be a mix of fennel, ajwain, jeera. You can have it after every. Meal. Also if you can plan your feed times 30 mins after eating. Helps in the process of making milk. Also drinking a lot of water before and after your feed. – Expressing and pumping. Using a dual breast pump tricks your body into saying you have twins. So it’s a double whammy if that works for you. – and lastly.
