Darren Aronofsky Instagram – long live the great #baobab tree. they are huge and ancient. a few of these giant guardians were seedlings when Rome was founded. that’s 2700 years old. the oldest ones can be 50 feet wide. think about that. whenever we spotted them we pulled over on the side of the dirt road and hacked through overgrown wild to pay tribute. we were always welcomed with warmth and wonder. a fully blown ecosystem thrives on and around these trees: insects, birds, small animals, snakes, other plants and thick vines (see images), even people. it was always hard to say goodbye. just wanted to keep hanging, listening and discovering. #zanzibar #tanzania #mother. lastly – and it’s hard to photograph – in the bark you see all the animals of the #serengeti see if you can find the crocodile and elephant. | Posted on 04/Sep/2019 00:39:29
