Luke Mullen Instagram – I’m sure a lot of you are feeling scared hearing that the #amazonrainforest has been on fire for the last 16 days, and I am too. The Amazon is the earth’s lungs, and not only produces 1/5 of the worlds oxygen, but is one of the largest carbon sink. This means these fires are releasing that carbon into our atmosphere right now, and this will effect everyone. BUT there still is so much you can do right now: SWIPE to see some ways that will actually make a difference! HERE ARE A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES, BUT I BEG YOU TO LOOK MORE INTO THESE AND DONATE! – Donate to @rainforestactionnetwork to protect an acre of the Amazonian rainforest. – For an emergency response to the Amazon, donate to @amazonfrontlines who protect millions of acres of land in the Amazon – Donate to the @rainforesttrust to help buy land in the rainforest. Since 1988, the organization has saved over 23 million acres and counting. – STOP EATING MEAT (especially beef). Meat is responsible for about 10% of the global emissions – Make sure you are buying @rainforestalliance certified products, and donate to them because they make sure farming practices are sustainable!
