Susan Rice Instagram – As we close out summer, I find myself reflecting on my childhood days playing at my grandparents’ house in Portland, Maine. My mother, Lois, was the daughter of Jamaican immigrants who came to Maine in 1912. This house at 51 Melrose Street represents the fruit of my grandparents’ labor after sending five children to college on a janitor’s salary and seeing their kids reap the American Dream.
