Alan van Sprang

Alan van Sprang Instagram – I met him briefly last year in Germany at a convention. We were having lunch together on our break. We talked about our Dutch heritage, where he was from, where my father was from. Talked very little about acting.
I knew who he was, he knew absolutely nothing about me.
We talked about how good the food was and how fun meeting fans were. In all honesty, I was star struck, I barely remember our encounter.
I couldn’t look him in the eyes without thinking of the psychotic being in the back of the station wagon with a stuffed animal waving at our hero whilst the oblivious family had no idea what awaited them in The Hitcher. Oh and BTW Robert Englund and Steven Segal were also at the table having lunch.
It was an extremely surreal smorgasbord of food and events.
One I will never forget.
I feel honoured to have shared that hour with Mr. Rutger Hauer.
