The practice of #HolikaDahan where the storyboard is Asura Holika who had powers by Brahma got burned by the help of Bhagwan Vishnu is also NOT a #Sati practice. There is no forced story in Maa Sati’s narrative too. In none of the #Dharmshastras like Manu, etc in #SanatanDharm there has been no mention or glorification of #Sati practice. If #Sati has been associated with #Hinduism then it is all by details written by Historians. But the #Dharmshastras dont say it part of #SanatanDharm. Now #Sati was practised in other religions too like Sikhism, Jainism, Chinese & Eastern Asian countries but it got more propoganda by association with #Hindu rituals, courtesy – #RajaRamMohanRoy guy who is famous as Hindu reformer but was basically a chamcha of Britishers & was converting Hindus into #Christianity . #Jauhar was an mass self-immolation incident like #RaniPadmavati did on her OWN will to escape becoming the mistress of Khilji. Even #Ghonghaat practice started during Mughal invasion. In other western countries, war widows also performed this tradition which we call #Sati practice in India. Now post Mughal era, the widow was supposed to live a life in a temple but the evil in the society forced a lot of women to burn themselves for their vested interests. We are glad that the #Sati practice has ended but it was not a part of the Vedic scriptures but seen during Mughal invasion. The Hindu women who performed #Jauhar at that time came from a #powerful space who were consciously deciding to leave their body like people do in #Samadhi but it was later changed into #powerless situation by the evils of the society who first wrongly associated it only to Hindu religion, forgetting it also existed in #west too & then forcing widows to burn themselves who didnt want too. So thats about how deliberately #Sati practice was associated with #SanatanDharm by the likes of Britishers & his stooge #RajaRamMohanRoy 🙄
