Being away from home has been a huge sacrifice. It really hurts some days. I miss my country. My language. My family. But I carry that painting and story on my face everyday. You may not see it but it’s there. Always.

Elena captured these moments of us watching the girls modelling on the beach. I was overwhelmed with so many emotions yesterday. I felt proud of our beautiful Yolngu girls. We all cried for our younger ones.
We have never had anything like is in our community. An opportunity to give these girls a day of pampering and self confidence in a different form was so empowering to watch.
