Ashwin Kakumanu Instagram – So even though this news is out I thought I’d put it out on the ‘gram officially. Starting from doing some small background sound effects work for the students in siddarths train scene in Mani sirs #aayithaezhuthu when I was in college to attending the auditions for #Raavanan and #chekkachivanthavaanam and hearing that he liked my audition for that and being called back to audition for #Ponniyinselvan and finally being selected and offered a role,it’s been a long journey you could say. During a dark phase where projects of mine have been stuck,dropped to being rejected and put down by some people,this truly came as a silver lining where I felt like I was noticed and on my own merit by auditioning. My thanks to the direction team for the auditioning process and looking forward to working toward Mani sirs vision. Coincidentally,officially signing the project on my mother’s birthday was extra special, and also like some sort of major cosmic karma. Her birthname is Kaveri. Ponniyin Selvan (The son of Kaveri) indeed. No idea what the future holds but I’m just going to ride it out. 🤞🏇 @madrastalkies
