Hartley Sawyer Instagram – Big, small, I love them all. I dream of the day when shelters are empty because we have actually tackled this problem with spay/neuter, community outreach and demanding responsible dog “ownership” (combined with assistance for good folks who need help – you don’t have to have a lot of money to be a wonderful dog/cat parent). Millions of dogs are euthanized in the USA every year. All of LA city’s six shelters are overflowing. They cannot all be saved. They just keep coming in. Animals are doubled up, in temporary kennels for days, staff cannot remotely keep up, volunteers and staff are beyond burned out – and the numbers just keep going up. There are solutions – but we need action. When will we address the root causes of the issue? When will we fix this, @mayorofla ?
