Clare Uchima Instagram – I wrote a love letter to myself for the #LoveWhoYouAre campaign by the Lotus Flower @thelotusf (an incredible charity run by my dear friends). The task was to be extra nice & kind to myself, saying zero negative things.
It was bloody hard even though I practice Self Love every day. In the end, I just had to think of myself as my best friend – then it was easy. And that’s so ironic because this is what I tell my friends when they talk negatively about themselves. I say “Gotta speak to yourself like you would to a friend – what would you say?” Anyway, here it is!
A love letter.
This is the longest, most intimate, intense, emotional, up & down relationship I’ve ever had with anyone. It’s been 36 years. We’ve had constant battles and disagreements.
Just when I think I know you well, there’s so much more that unfolds & untangles!
I know you try your best to be a good human being and I love you for that. You are kind, loyal, genuine, caring, generous, fair, empathetic and compassionate. You just want the world to heal and for all beings on this planet to be happy. You carry a loving heart and that is more than enough. You question yourself way less nowadays and you are learning to accept yourself and I’m so proud of you! I think you’re amazing for getting through what you have. You are so complicated yet uncomplicated – you fascinate me! And I want to spend the rest of my life getting to know you more. Here’s to all the lessons & blessing to come. Love you! Carry on being YOU.
