Today marks one year since the morning I woke up and decided I’m not going to drink again.
This was something I wanted for a while! I wouldn’t say I had a problem, I’d say I liked to party 🤪 For those of you who know, know, for those of you who don’t.. I knew how to have fun!
I felt I’d been to all the coolest parties, to all the biggest galas, partied with the who’s who of the what what, at the where where but it was time to go on a date with myself.
I went from wondering what party I was missing out on to wondering what parts of life I hadn’t discovered yet.
I wanted more hours in my days, days in my week, weeks in my months. I wanted to know what the best version of myself looked like.
I knew I needed to slow down, stop avoiding myself and get to know Jess 🤢
It’s really interesting, scary, fun, painful and enlightening getting to know yourself. This whole self love and self acceptance thing is REAL but, baby steps!
What I do know so far is that life is beautiful on this side of the fence, the FOMO has gone and the who’s who’s that matter are still there. The amazing thing is I’m still doing the same shit but LIFE feels much richer with this better understanding of myself. And, much to my dis-belief, I’m still fun 🤪
