Ben Stiller Instagram – It’s #InternationalWomensDay. As men we all owe so much to women. I know I do! In addition to all the important women in my life, I want to salute Warda. She is a single mother from the rural area of Aleppo, Syria. Her city and home were ravaged by the war. She has 3 children. Warda fled to Lebanon in 2014. She worked in agriculture for some time, earning only $4 dollars a day. Her home was flooded during the recent storm in the Bekaa Valley near the Syrian border, where she lives in an informal settlement camp. She received emergency core relief items from #UNHCR like the plastic sheeting I’m holding. I spent some time with her and was able to see how focused and resilient she is as a single mother in a tough situation.
She is an example of the strong and independent women who are the core of families and workforces all over the world.
