Annie Murphy Instagram – As I’ve been talking about to anyone who will give me the time of day, my Mum and I traveled to Azraq Refugee Camp in Jordan a few weeks ago with @carecanada to see the work they’re doing there with refugees and with Jordanians hosting them. I hate to make these inevitable eye-roll inducing comments, but my visit there was a true life-changer. I heard a huge number tragic stories about loss, and war and displacement. But what I latched onto and took away from this trip was the hope and strength and courage that was present everywhere I went. CARE works to build a community of support around people, especially girls. So many participants, from CARE staff, to volunteers, to Syrian refugees themselves are working tirelessly to remove the barriers young girls face in unlocking a better, brighter future for themselves and their families.
