Q’orianka Kilcher Instagram – When I was 14 years old I met Wes for the first time while filming ‘The New World’, little did I know in that moment, I met a life long friend and mentor. Wes is one of the kindest, most generous humans I know. He is the type of person that in a room full of strangers makes you feel like you are seen and not alone. Throughout the years Wes has revolutionized how indigenous people are portrayed in cinema. He has inspired, encouraged and lit a path, showing us all what IS possible. Last night I was so deeply honored to be part of presenting Wes with an Oscar! wow! I can’t stop smiling when I think of what a historical moment this is! He is the second indigenous artist only to ever win an Oscar!!!
