O’Shea Jackson Jr. Instagram – Sometimes we use cinema to escape from the chaos the world is constantly throwing at us. And other times we use cinema to shed light on things that happen in this world that people tend to ignore. JUST MERCY CAN NOT AND WILL NOT BE IGNORED. This is more than a film, it’s food for the soul. I am honored to be a part of a piece of art that will undoubtedly inspire and strengthen those who watch it. Usually our heroes don’t get their due acknowledgment until after they have already left us. But I assure you Bryan Stevenson is alive and well. Continuing a fight to right the wrongs created by an unjust criminal justice system. Saving the lives of human beings of all races who have been wrongfully sentenced to death. A voice of the voiceless. Bringer of hope. One of the most intelligent individuals I’ve ever shared a room with. I’m grateful to Destin Daniel Cretton @destindaniel and of course the homie @michaelbjordan for bringing me along for this ride. And I truly hope that you will take the time to go see this film and experience the feeling it gives you. Just Mercy is in theaters now….may it bring us all more compassion, understanding, strength , Hope, and justice. And of course more Bryan Stevensons all over the world.
