Join us in welcoming this year’s recipient of the #LatinavatorAwards, Rosie Perez!⠀ ⠀ An Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress/choreographer, @rosieperezbrooklyn has been a cultural mainstay since her breakout performances in such classic films as Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” and Ron Shelton’s “White Men Can’t Jump.”⠀ ⠀ The multi-talented powerhouse has also been a vocal activist, particularly for Puerto Rican rights as noted in her documentary “Yo soy Boricua, pa’que tu lo sepas!” She also starred in and directed the PSA AIDS campaign “Join The Fight” and was appointed by President Barack Obama to The Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. Rosie now serves as the chair of the artistic board for @urbanartsorg.
