Kaylah Zander Instagram – One of the first adult memories I have if my father was him taking me to a Chilean memorial event on September 11th – the first day of the coup in 1973 and the beginning of a brutal right wing dictatorship.
At 15 I didn’t understand how we can inherit trauma – with all its grief and silence and burning rage at injustice and suspicion and attachment to objects and violence to self and others. But I see it now. I see how important it is to remember and to make sure all that dark inherited stuff ends at me.
