i have loved his music for a while and his last @canonblue album ‘Lasso Yo’ really had me fuq’d up for quite some time… needless to say, i was excited to write to some music he sent me. it’s one of the few songs i top-lined for this album, rather than building it from scratch… and it really gave me a place to put some haunted thoughts i’d carried for far too long.
excuse the very long caption (again) but it’s relieving to have this one out. .
*lil music nerd tidbit* … the “yah yah’s” and those harmonies were inspired by the Lijadu Sisters. while touring for After Laughter, i fell for a lot of popular African music… but their songs are some of my favorite. please listen to them while you’re stuck at home. you will not regret it! | Posted on 22/Apr/2020 09:28:18
