Megalyn Echikunwoke Instagram – I grew up on the Navajo Nation in Chinle Arizona. Where I learned to play #rezball with the best of them. We balled so hard we even have a @netflix docu series about our special breed of athletes. #BasketballorNothing is streaming now. Take a minute to watch it and learn about where I come from and the incredible culture that shaped who I am. This series is my childhood. Those are my brothers and sisters. That was my high school, those were the dirt roads I ran. We did sports because there was nothing else. I watch it now with a broken heart knowing that our Native communities are getting ravaged by COVID-19. The Navajo are suffering fatalities and twice the national rate. 30% of the homes dont have running water or electricity. They are under curfew and some are being forced to isolate with no drinking water or enough food.
