Javier Bardem Instagram – Over the last two weeks, a group of governments tried to negotiate a new Antarctic Ocean Sanctuary. Sadly, they failed. Although 22 governments supported an ambitious sanctuary, the Norwegian, Chinese and Russian negotiators were able to stop it from going ahead.
But this isn’t over. Together, we’re going to come back stronger than ever to protect the Antarctic – and ocean life everywhere.

¡Malas noticias! Los gobiernos reunidos estos días en Tasmania no han logrado llegar a un acuerdo para crear un gran Santuario Antártico.
La propuesta ha sido respaldada por 22 de los 25 gobiernos miembros de la Comisión del Océano Antártico, pero era necesario consenso. Han sido China, Rusia y Noruega los países que han votado en contra del santuario.
Casi tres millones de personas en todo el mundo apoyaban la creación de este santuario, que se hubiera convertido en la mayor área protegida del planeta. ¡Seguimos trabajando para conseguirlo!
