Rahul Bose Instagram – She pushed me to box for school, play rugby for the Bombay Gym. She opened the entire library of books at home for me when I turned 10. She taught me how to pick wild flowers for the house. And she never entered the kitchen. Gender equality? We breathed it. My friends thought she was way cooler than I was – they came over more to hang with her than with me. (Though, which mother makes her son wear a knit pullover with a bumblebee on it?) She died when I was 20. Never saw me act professionally – either on the Bombay stage or in cinema. Ah, well. You can’t have it all. #KumudThoratBose #MothersDay
