Amyra Dastur Instagram – We’re in excruciatingly hard times right now. The Pandemic has ripped through our world and caused a standstill in ALL our lives. Yet, some of us lucky ones have homes to take shelter in, families to love and take care of us, enough food to last us a month, easy access to doctors and medication, financial safety nets and savings to get us through these dark times. We’re the lucky ones. But most of our people aren’t as lucky. I’ve seen videos of men, women and children walking on the road trying to get back home. Our people haven’t eaten in days and cry with gratitude upon receiving a meal. Some are stranded or stuck because of this lockdown. Some don’t even have shelter or a roof over their heads. Yes, we’re all afraid and scared but we must ensure that our compassion overrides our fear and selfishness. The next time you go out to buys groceries, try buying a little extra for the needy. Try buying a few bottles of water for them. Buy an extra bottle of sanitizer for them. Donate a little bit from your nest egg to organisations helping those less fortunate than yourself. It’s time to override fear with humanity. 🙏🏻

Even if it put their lives at risk. That really hit me.
