It’s @lukasgage birthday and he literally begged me to say something. Happy birthday Lukas. You’re actually insane but we like that about you.

You cannot celebrate PRIDE correctly without celebrating the lives and fearlessness and ingenuity of thousands of Black people. They have been fighting for the health and safety of the ENTIRE QUEER COMMUNITY since day 1 despite frequently being forgotten or forcibly removed from the narrative of queer liberation. PRIDE months past, this legacy has been lost in a bunch of rainbow logos, but this PRIDE let us reflect on how the movement started and who started it: A riot against the police led by Queer Black People.
Today would have been #breonnataylor ‘s 27th birthday. Let’s celebrate her by taking any of the above steps to demand justice for her MURDER and see the men responsible charged and incarcerated as they would be in any other circumstance. #breonnataylorday #justiceforbreonnataylor

If you’re as disturbed by the news of police brutality, institutionalized racism, and wanton double standards in this country as we all should be, please consider any of these options for getting involved. . . You can donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which combats harmful (race based) incarceration by paying bail for low income individuals. “Pay-to-play justice” should not be the way in a country where “innocent until proven guilty” and “the right to a fair trial” are supposed to be the standard. . You can text “Floyd” to 55156 to demand that the ex-officers who *murdered* an innocent man are held responsible for their actions. . You can follow the link in my bio to a google doc which contains MANY Anti-Racism resources for white people looking to actually help. (Thank you @alyssavingan and @sarahsophief for creating it) . . You can educate yourself on the prison industrial complex, the connection between police and the “runaway slave patrols” they descended from, and our country’s long history of destroying black people’s lives for profit. . . You can do so many things besides saying “I’m sorry that’s awful”. I have been as guilty of performative allyship as the next white person but that doesn’t actually change anything. Thank you to @shirien.creates for this artwork, and to everyone working at these organizations.

@shotinmellow capturing quarantine like only a witch of her talent can.
Follow @mvmnt4blklives . Follow @janayathefuture . Follow the link in my bio for MANY resources on how to get involved and where to spend your money. This is not going away, there will be no “going back to normal” until “normal” in America doesn’t include the oppression, segregation, and MURDER of our black citizens.
