Emily Rios Instagram – I came out to my family when I was 18. It took me until last year to finally cut my hair the way I always wanted it.
I thought it would be liberating but I was still conflicted with my true identity. I’m 30 years old now and still struggle with being comfortable in my skin.
All this to say, on this #NationalComingOutDay, be gentle with yourself on your journey to finding your true self. I know the daunting feeling of being vulnerable and exposed, but I promise you, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep stepping one foot in front of the other and you’ll see helping hands reaching out at the next turn.
