What if this cry is a calling?
Time won’t just heal
Unless you tune in
To the hurt that your heart has been hauling
Tears are not meant to be blinked away
But questioned and welcomed – they lead
To the cave in our heart
The neglected part
Where change comes by planting a seed
And what if you watered that seed every day?
With the love you reserve for those close
If you think there’s a limit to how much there is
Then it’s you that needs your love the most
Stay awhile
In that dark place
For dreams dance through you in the night
Let those dreams partner up with the pain that you face
And have them waltz back to the light
We each have a dance, an inner child at play
The key to our future they hold
If we just find the lock we can open the lid
To our magic, our treasure, our gold
Through this death now, we can birth a new day
I know braving the unknown’s a tough choice
But your love, and your grief, and your tears pave the way
On the path of you using your voice
The world needs your voice
