Natalie Gumede Instagram – It caught my eye amongst millions
This stone with a swirl at its heart
Its form of love, with a crashing wave
Mirrors the ways I want life to restart
Perhaps its imprint is from a shell?
Edges surely, smoothed by the sea?
A lesson – as I emerge from a personal hell
Of how we are meant to be
Yielding, morphing, staying strong
Nature wonāt assign these emotion
From the years a pebble is broken down
It eventually becomes the ocean
I felt the breaking, yet drowned by the waves
In a vast beach I tried to hide
But this rock sat proud, with its perfect flaws
Asking āwhen will YOU turn the tide?ā My shape isnāt perfect, my edges still rough
Sea spray tastes the same as my tears
But sharpness can soften; I know Iām enough
And our love can stand out from fear
Itās good for ego to remember
Weāre naught but a grain of sand
But sometimes we need the reminder
The soul has bigger things planned
Pebble Heart holds the answer
To sensing the storms of the sea
āWhen you feel small compared to the ocean
See the ocean is also in me.ā 24/05/20 – Thanks Pebble Heart!
Sometimes I write poems to make sense of how I feel. I rarely share them. And if I do, only with a few people. I saw this pebble today. And I decided to be brave ššššššššššššš
