@amrishpkumar and I are raising funds to sponsor the treatment of COVID-19 patients. In association with CMF, we have tied up with 3 private hospitals in Delhi, to identify patients who are unable to pay for their treatment and we will reach out to them for support.
As you all know, the Delhi healthcare system has virtually collapsed under the pressure of overwhelming numbers of COVID patients. I know people who have lost family members that could have been saved but faced difficulties even just getting into hospitals. People are being asked to pay upfront otherwise they are being turned away. For low-income households the tremendous cost of treatment at Delhi hospitals is unaffordable.
The Delhi Govt. has now standardized and capped the charges for COVID treatment at private hospitals. For the treatment of mild, moderate, and severe cases. This ranges from Rs. 10,000, 15,000, and 18,000 respectively per day. So for 10 days the treatment costs are likely to be Rs. 1.0 Lakhs, 1.5 Lakhs, and 1.8 Lakhs per patient.
We are looking to raise Rs.30 Lakhs to start with which should cater to 25-30 patients.
